The Burmese family being sponsored by St Henry's and St. Michael's has arrived!!
What an exciting week it has been!

Meet the Moe Family

On Tuesday Carol Nash, Andy Waterman and I (Lynn Waterman) went back to the apartment to continue cleaning and painting after picking up donated items at the church. Mabey's movers were just bringing the donated furniture into the apartment when we got there. Ron Karpien came over and helped paint the kitchen and bathroom. Judy Stamp came back after our 1 PM virtus training and helped by making up beds, vacuuming and painting the living room stove. Sister Kate stopped by to see how things were progressing. Tuesday evening Anele, Marie and Jeannie from St. Michael's organized furniture, stocked cabinets, dressers and closets, put crib together, brought in toys  and did more cleaning. They returned on Wednesday night and added area rugs, curtains, towels and many other finishing touches. The decorating crew did an excellent job! Anele also scrubbed the floors. What a transformation!!

Thursday morning Carol and I picked up the relatives, Aung Nge and Steh Htoo and brought them to the airport. Sister Kate also came to greet the new family. Wassiem and Amy from Catholic Charities were also there.  We all went back to the apartment. Anele was there to greet them and show them around their new home. Chris Dempf (the landlord) also stopped by to meet the family. We will continue to be available to assist the family any way that we can. The group from St. Michael's with their enthusiasm and dedication have been a pleasure to work with. Chris and his contractor Steve were also great to work with.

On Sunday, Ben Gauch picked up furniture from St. Michael's & Huck Finn's and delivered it to the apartment. Special thanks for his patience and flexibility. Roger Rubrecht was also a great help on Monday, spending the day working with Andy, painting the ceiling, walls and trim in the living room and closet.
We will continue to update the parish and hope to have more people get involved as things progress. Thank you for your generous donations of appliances, money, time and labor. It is truly appreciated. Pass this on to others in the parish who might be interested.

A few pictures of the family at the apartment are attached. Father, Kyaw Soe Moe, age 29, Mother, Hae Say Paw, age 26, 3 year old daughter, Naw Lin Mya Moe and 7 month old daughter , Justin Moe. The family and their relatives are very nice.  Lynn Waterman

VERSE OF THE DAY:
My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm. -- Isaiah 51:5
